Building Earthquake-Proof Structures in P6
19th Nov 2024
Primary 6 have been learning all about earthquakes, and they were challenged to build an earthquake-proof structure.
We read some articles on how buildings in Japan are designed to withstand an earthquake, and used these ideas to create our own structures using marshmallows and spaghetti.
We then put the structures to the test using jelly to mimic the different vibrations of an earthquake. There were some very sturdy structures that survived!!
