Irish Language Gaelic Football Blitz
Today our Primary 7 ‘mixed’ boys and girls Gaelic football team participated in an Irish Language Gaelic football blitz organised by St Macartan’s GFC, Trillick.
All pupils (teams) were encouraged to use Irish Language to communicate during games, with coaches and referees also using Gaeilge.
The pupils played five matches, in a non-competitive and really enjoyable manner, and of course with an abundance of skill and talent! They made many friends and thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed environment.
At the end of the blitz, St Mary’s Tempo were presented with a trophy as a reward for their use of Irish Language during the games, with our player Ava Pakenham being awarded 'Gaeilgeoir an Lae' (Irish speaker of the day).
Congratulations to our wonderful team of players, and the fantastic management team of Mrs McQuaid and her assistant Mrs Campbell.
We also sincerely thank St Macartan’s GFC for their hospitality and warm welcome.
