Maths Week in Primary 6
Primary 6 were busy completing a range of activities this week for Maths Week Ireland!
We took part in a live Maths Week Quiz, working together to solve each question. We completed this alongside 530 other schools on a Zoom call.
We used the Mayan Number System to create a range of numbers and calculations. This was really enjoyable as the children could compare it to our number system and discuss their likes/dislikes.
We played a game where a number was placed on the board, and the pupils used the 4 number operations, fractions, percentage or decimals to create that number in as many ways as possible. We also played some division bingo during our maths class. There was a lot of competition between the tables!
Overall, we had a very fun week practising our mental maths in several ways!!
